Scientology: Inside the Cult
I just love any video that exposes the truth behind Scientology.
Welcome to my personal thoughts, opinions, favorite links and videos. Some posts are for adults only, some are humorous, and many are politically/religiously incorrect. Some people might be offended -- If you think it's MY job to keep YOU from being offended, now might be the time to leave!

having been ia a cult myself, i find this story upsetting but all too familiar. thought the size, location, mission and beliefs were utterly different than those of Scientology, the underlying story is the same: influence the people to an unhealty degree then fleece them.
Programs like this one will have little or no effect on the members. the christian martyrdom mythology is so deeply imbedded in our culture that all attacks on the religion or its founder will be viewed through this lens.
the truth is that there is no shortage of deeply unhappy people in the world. any belief system which offers freedom from lonliness, sadness, isolation or hopelesness will attract them. there is also a fairly large number of idelaists in any given population. these people will be drawn to helping the world. which scientology also says it is doing.
to be fair, i think christianity is a cult, too. it's just a huge, ancient one that's been very effective in brainwashing people. so effective that christians literally believe EVERYBODY ELSE is wrong, and maybe going to hell. it seems to me from my limited knowledge of them that most religions have approximately the same conviction.
they all started with one man and his revolutionary ideas. these men were rarely if ever accepted or believed by more than a few in the beginning. it's the same story, with slight variations, over and over, and over again.
some people crave power, and a lot of others want to hand it to them.
